Playing Together chases the blues away.
A Seaforth flautist is offering aspiring musicians the chance to play in a group rather than stay at home with the blues.
“It can be lonely playing music by yourself” said flautist Pamela Jordan.
“It’s much more fun to play in a group and it’s the best way to improve your ability.”
Jordan, who has a Bachelor of Music from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, is organising a group to meet each week.
Jordan said the group was designed for adult beginner and intermediate musicians “who would like to play with other musicians in an encouraging environment with a quality coach”.
The cost for each session is $35 and Jordan specifically writes or arranges or adapts the music for each person to suit their ability.
“People have very stressful lives and music is a way to relax, to have a greater sense of spirit and soul,” Jordan said.
The group session is on Wednesdays from 6.00pm to 7.30pm in Seaforth.
